Been through most of the mfgs for tires. I'm sold on the Elite 3's. I'll keep using them till something better better rolls along. Best prices for me were RonAyers.com and DennisKirk.com. Bought Elites from both. Always go for the free shipping. Kirk was less than $210 for both shipped to my door last time.
let me get this straight, there will be no problem stuffing a 160 bias ply elite 3 under my 07 FLHX. the michelin is about gone and I am going to mount a new elite 3 , just wanting to make sure everyone thinks the 160 will go with no problem.
And what is the advantage of the bias over the radial.
I get between 11-13k on the rear 402 , have done almost 15k on the rear one time ..
Apparently a 160 will fit .. But as I said I dont see spending the extra money for another 3/4" width ..
I think any advantage wud go to the radial , but the Dunlop radials do not fit Harleys .. And they cost a good bit more , and probably dont last any longer
I just read 5 pages of everyone raving about the E3 but no one said what's so great about it besides getting more miles out of it?? Since it's a bias ply tire, you must replace them in pairs and not mix/match bias and non-bias. Looking for a new tire also, but what's so good about the E3.
I dont replace mine in pairs , I replace them as needed , usually two or three rear to one front ..
People say they handle the road much better than the E2's and others , and claims of 50% better mileage , which would mean I wud get 15-20k outta the rear , in which case I wud be very happy ..
