I have an 07 SG and have been struggling with the 09 thing myself. I have been working on handling and performance upgrades to get the bike where I want it. I think I'll just continue with the 07. Brembos and floating rotors coming up.

This is one of the things holding me back from getting a Dead Center Fairing. I don't care for the way the 2-tone fairing looks in this color. I may just end up doing a solid. I'm going to try and Photoshop some options first so I can get an idea of how it'll look.
I'm very surprised that you didn't notice a huge difference in the handling. It was dramatically different for me.
Me too, that's why I bought one. That said, it's probably not a big difference for the crank it in the straights, creep through the corners kinda riders....
Put me down for "the difference is night and day" between my '07 SG and my '09 Ultra. The Ultra is tons easier to ride two up and IMHO this monster is almost "flickable" in the twisties now.
+1 on the color of your bike. BEAUTIFUL ! I feel the same way about the 09's. I guess it is a matter of preference. I even prefer the 88 over the 96 engine. Of course, living where I do, the nearest interstate is over 80 miles away. I may feel different about this come June when I travel my first long long distance trip on my Road Glide. I hear that the extra gear really makes a difference.

I see a big difference between my 04 & my new FLTRSE3, I believe when you are really not ready to trade as was your case, the small improvements from one year to another do not justify the $$$$ lost in trading.

How do you think black would look if it were covered by leather to match the saddle bags and seat?
It SOUNDS like it might not look to bad, but you never know. Sometimes something sounds like a good idea only to be craptastic in practice.
rockhard69, I do like the color of your bike. Thanks for your service.
I am not totally sure there a lot of people today who could appreciate your rank, given the fact that so few serve. But I damn sure can. Thank you for many, many, many years of your service.
