We finally got to test ride a 09 Ultra today through several side roads and out on the freeway. We currently have a 07 ULTRA, its stock except for Cobra slip-ons. We read all of the info about the 09 on the Harley site. We have read numerous post from people saying the ride was so much better than the 07's. My wife said the seat felt better when she first sat on it but after several miles, she said it was no better than our 07. I noticied the engine only vibrated about half and was quieter than our 07. I could not honestly say the ride and handling was any better than our 07. We were dissapointed that there was not a bigger difference in the ride. Styling wise we really like the exhaust changes and the wider rear tire and fender. Harley should really change up the fairing area. We love Harleys but feel for the extra money they should improve the layout. Well, we decided we will see what the 2010's look like. Plus they only wanted to give us 16400 for ours and still wanted full MSRP. They had at least 20 Ultras sitting out front. So we went ahead and picked up stuff for ours.
The sales manager said there was not going to be any real changes to the 2010 Ultra and there would be only a few colors which she thought did not really look that good. Probably just a sales pitch/

Good way to get rid of the 09's. They said that when I bought my 06, last of the 88's!!! You never know?
From: Dallas, TX & Santa Fe, NM when I can find the time....
My salesman showed me the HD letter with the new colors AND the book with color chip chart for the 10's. I couldn't get too excited about the colors...if you like black...you're in luck. Black/red, Black/blue, Ice black/pearl white (custom)...silver, blue, red, silver/black....he thought the colors were a bit dull as well. Did have a crimson red, but that's only offered in a few models...can't remember which. Perhaps the actual bikes will be better in person. The black ice is very similar to the current custom color out now.

Yeah. No cool colors like turquoise and antique white, like you and I have......hehehe
I'm very surprised that you didn't notice a huge difference in the handling. It was dramatically different for me. Of course I was able to spend all day on an 09 and was able to take it up to the mountains where the handling and the new frame really showed itself.
Such a difference that I went back to the dealership and put a deposit down for first right of refusal for the 2010 once the CVO line up is released.
The ABS is another feature that makes it a much nicer bike to have........I got to test that, too.
I posted earlier this week that I rode an 09 Electra and much preferred my 06 Road King. I wan't looking to buy anything else, but happy as punch that I like my current bike so much...sounds like you should be happy, too! Dang, it's only an 07...hang onto it for awhile...
