Helmet Problem

My wife bought one prior to our trip to Fl. last month. She was miserable. It dug into her forehead giving her headaches. Since we were in FL. I gave her my helmet which she put on over a ballcap.
The dealer where she bought it told her to get a ballpeen hammer and lightly tap down the foam.....

I've tried the ice cream scoop pressure on the foam. It doesn't feel any different to me and my wife doesn't notice any difference with the fit, however, she has not ridden with it yet...
