Gotta be careful, lot of crazies out there with guns, and sometimes the smallest things set them off. but sometimes it's better to just ride on.
Amen! Sitting here tonight with some olives reading all the comments, I realize it wasn't worth it! As stated many times throughout this thread " should have "just rode on". Have six grandchildren, that would have missed their grandfather.
No matter the situation, I find every chance to let someone who is too close pass me, or I straight pull way off the side of the road and stop.
I personally would never, ever confront someone while in traffic. Just asking for trouble. I personally have a Concealed Firearms Permit, and if a biker got off his bike and came up to my window at a stop light, I'd definitely feel threatened, especially since I am assuming that most tailgaters don't even realizing what they are doing, or that they are making the biker nervous.
I wave people around me as often as needed. No reason I can't pull over and let them pass.
It must be the general average age of the guys in here but I am honestly suprised at the amount of level headed smart thinking being posted here. It must be age related because I doubt you'd find a group of 25 year olds making all these similar comments. Speaks well of us Harley Touring Riders!
Best to slow up and let the dude past then put one into his gas tank as you drive behind him. He'll hear the shot but won't know what the hell happen until his car runs out of fuel a few miles down the road and you'll be long gone by then.Riding a bike is very humbling compared to your cage, when i'm in my truck and you drive stupid by me i get just like Dale Earnhardt last lap with a car just off my front bumper...nature takes over...Put'in the wall......When i'm on my bike it's the complete opposite...without tonnage you just can't pee in the tall weeds with the big dogs.
Dang golf courses and them ***** that fly over the freeway from them.....
Bset to let the ***** pass and a polite call to 911 always makes me feel better after too.
Glad your alive to tell the story,
Rob
I had a lady putting make-up on one morning (scared the $hit out of me) had no where to pull over. I tried to speed up and she just kept on coming, slowed down to about 25-30 the whole single lane 6 mile strip and upon getting to the red light she pulls along side and apologizes and she stopped for the rest of the road. Pull over let them pass and enjoy your ride.
Wife and I went for a ride sunday and was enjoying it until 2 suv's decided to play with a bike which happened to be me 1 would pass me and slow down while the other would stay on my a$$, when I could go around I would pass the one in front of me and get away from them and then set my cruise again and continue on for a bit and here they would come again they did this like 5 times and it was pissing me off so when I could get around again I cranked it up to 100 and got way away from them during that time I passed an unmarked trooper and I did not slow down thought I was nailed anyway but he did not do anything I guess he saw these 2 cause I did looked in my mirror after passing him and here they come again so a few miles up the road I puled into a rest stop and they did too and 4 state trooper cars in and surrounded the 2 suv's and the unmarked trooper came and asked me what was going on as he was a rider also and it seemed funny for a touring bike to be going that fast and then he saw the 2 suv's and put 2 and 2 together and figured it out so he told me go on and enjoy myself as these 2 suv's weren't going anywhere for a while and to keep it under 80. I thanked and so did my wife and we went on our merry way smiling the whole way home. Funny thing is we did not do anything to these people we were just ridin along about 75 enjoying the day and the scenery.
