Default Question for painters

All,

My scooter is a '09 FLHR standard, with the standard HD decals on the sides of the gas tank. Can they be pulled off? Would the tank need refinishing?

Thanks,
Roberto

they're either wet slides or decals. They are applied directly to the color. If you want them gone you have to sand the clear off to get to them. The clear is powder so it would basically require a complete strip and re-paint. if you want to know if they're wet slides or decals, look around the edges of the logo. If it's completely smooth, then it's a wet slide. If there's a ridge in the clear, then it's a decal. The stripes are buried under the clear too.

Hope this helps and you like your decals or want to re-paint!!

Later,

BM
