first I want to say this a nice stereo upgrade but after I installed the system my v/r went out the next day. after I replaced the v/r I noticed that at idle with radio volume hi the sound clarity will change in a bad way, my conclusion is that this amp needs a steady 14 volts for quality. has anyone else had this problem or noticed what im talking bout? 07 street glide..
I had my ARC amp for over a yr with no charging issues. This is the first time i've heard of one here.
How do you have the amp power wire hooked up?
Have you checked the connections?
Have you talked to Firecap?

Just last week I installed an ARC 125.2 Mini on my 2008 Street Glide. I added some Alpine SPR 13 speakers. The sound is incredible.
I used an 8 gauge power wire connected directly to the battery with a 40 amp fuse for circuit protection. The ground wire is also 8 gauge and connected directly to a now unpainted area of the frame.
I've made no changes to the charging system and have had no problems.

Probably just a coincidence. The HD charging system is more than adequite. Double check your connections. I went one further and ran 8 gauge ground all the way back directly to battery. Check your in-line fuse on your 8 gauge power line. They will sweat and build corrosion on the fuse contacts it will look mayonaise in there. Clean all connections with electrical contact cleaner and than coat with electrical contact grease.
Been running mine for at least 5 months with no problems - My volt meeter is always reading 14 volts plus.... I am also running 4 speakers in parallel and was worried about heat. Was in Laughlin and the desert with 100+ temps and no problems with the amp!!!
I have/had way more power on my bike than just the arc mini and have had no charging issues yet...
one thing i always say (when upgrading audio), add a nice battery like the odyssey i have and if you have the older charging system (that would be a great upgrade)... to ease stress on the charging system, try not to run the battery dead (by playing the setup with the bike sitting... if you are at home playing around in the garage or something for instance, try recharging the battery with a charger or tender, prior to starting and running the bike...
again, in short, i havent had a charging problem.. to check out the many changes in audio i put my bike through, click on the link in my thread

may it was just a coincidence, I was thinking the same too. I think my power wire is 10 g straight to the battery and the ground is mounted to frame. maybe I will use 8g for power and ground also.

i use 8 and connect power and ground to the battery
