I had some time yesterday and decide to do my 1k service at 790mil..Change all fluids with amsoil 20-50 eng and primary 75-90 gear..While I had oil out finished installing sending unit for oil temp gauge that I installed after faring swap all magnets were clean and all fluids except the motor oil What mil did u guys do 1k service at and was it to soon to put syth oil in...
Had dealer do it @920 miles. I needed to adjust the clutch at about 2500 miles so went ahead with the Amzoil in all three holes at that time. I don't think it matters what oil you use after break in. jmho.

I changed at 500 with fossil (Castrol GTX), then to syn at 1750 with 5k intervals after that.
I think it is wise to run fossil oil for at least 500 miles to encourage the rings to seat quickly. Car and Driver magazine did a write-up on that years ago and decided that there is the possibility that synthetic oil being generally slicker may prolong seating. The conclusion was that using syn early might not matter but that running fossil oil at first certainly won't hurt anything, so just do it, because if the rings don't seat quickly they may never seat. Fossil oil just helps that process along.
That said, some vehicles come from the factory with synthetic oil installed. Examples are Corvette, Porsche, and Harley CVO's.
343,962.4 miles any other great questions? OH just kidding believe it or not around 1000 miles. jeeez I wonder when people did there 10,000 mile checkup??
Started at around 900 miles and finished at 1800 miles.
I was a bit lax on checking torque values on all bolts... Have to take jiffy stand off, for example, to check MM bolts underneath, etc.
Now, I am in the same pattern again!!! Changed all fluids right at 10k, but will take me like a month to re check torque on EVERY fastener.
I now have three torque wrenches... two 'clickers' and one 'beeper'.
I truly believe a dealer does NOT check every single fastener like service manual states...
Instead of just adjusting the clutch... I have a SE compensator to install! The 'whir' 'whir' noise from combination of el cheapo compensator and primary self adjuster sounds like crap to me. At least... I want a solid "whir" sound....
The 21 cams aggravate this noise a bit.
