I have the same bike (even the same color) and although I love mine, I would shop around a bit. The price would have been a good one a couple of years ago but now, I think that is a bit high. The brake doesn't concern me too much as it can be fixed with a bleeding or a master cylinder rebuild. The pipes are what they are. Without a fuel management system, you are going to run a bit lean. I'm assuming that the bike has a high flow AC and most likely just the ECM flash. It is a fuel injected model isn't it? If so, it is the Magnetti Marelli model. Some have had problems with the M-M but mine has always treated me well. The 01 models are limited to what you can do to customize them though. Many things like cruise control, flush mount gas caps/guage, etc. are just not available for the 01s. None of it is bad but you need to know what you are getting for your coin.
One more thing.........This a dealer's bike and he wants my 2007 SuperGlide AND $4,000 for the bike. Now what do you think?
I don't know what your bike is worth, but generally at the end of the day, you'll pay a few more grand at a dealer for a bike or a car, maybe only $2k, but maybe as much as $6k.
I found an 03 RKC w/ 5k miles and a few things on it for sale for around $12k, before I could go look at it the next day, someone came and bought it. 3 days later, the dealer that ended up w/ it was trying to sell it to me for $16k after doing nothing to the bike.
I'd try to sell my bike and then buy a different bike from a private seller, but that's just me. If you want the bike and you like the deal, then go for it, it's your money.
Bike is probably running lean, which wouldn't be uncommon running those ThunderHeader slip ons (at least thats what they look like). The brake is easy to fix. In my opinion, that price might be a bit high for that bike, although i hope an 01 can fetch that price. Just makes my 02 worth more than that
