I do have the service manual but not with me. I had my cam cover changed along with other stuff and I believe the had to take off the headpipe to do it. I called the person who did the work and they "dont recall" taking it off. I looked at the bike and I don't see how you could do it without removing it. I am not looking to battle them if I don't have to.
You have to remove the pipe, I don't see how you could do it without.
Thats what I said and they got testy. Which kind of pissed me off. I paid $700 for them to do forks, cam, primary and my 1000mile service. I told them up front I was ****. Now I have a decel pop and a slight klunk noise in the front end. Now I know there was a minor noise to begin with but this is more pronounce. I could reinvent the wheel and take everything apart again but I did pay them. I will see what happens tomorrow when I bring it by.

If you don't mind me asking why are you having to remove the cam cover again
I just replaced all of the OE zinc plated allen bolts on the cam cover with chrome ones. I replaced them because a) I wanted to and b) I happen to have the front header pipe off for another upgrade. I can't imagine how anyone could replace the cam cover bolts much less replace the cam cover without removing the front head pipe.

im not. I don't think that could be read into my post but if you did i appologize. I had the cover changed and now have an exhaust leak. I would fix it myself but I already paid them to do to the work on the cover change. They should fix it but they dent taking the headpipe off.
clunking noises are normal according to the dealers
I know but i didnt have it before the new forks were put on. I always do this I cant leave well enough alone so I mod **** then get made with the side effects.
I would think that the dealer would take care of any problems if there are any.if you just gave them 700 bucks to do the work they should stand behind it.m2c

I had an indy do the work. They are highly regarded in my area and they are in the same building as my good friends body shop.
