Default What to do about my engine guards

I had a issue with some sand in my driveway and down she went 2 days old. I got the saddle bag scratch fixed and the one on the front fender fixed now I'm not sure if I should get a new engine guard as the scratch is just about at the bottom off it or leave it. I see many people have had a issue with there bike going down at a slow speed and all the talk about keeping the engine guards on , but out off all the people that say they got scratches on there engine guards they don't say if they left it as is or spent the $240 or more to replace it. So should I replace it or leave it ?

Depends on how **** you want to be. I probably wouldn't replace it and definitely wouldnt eliminate them. Think of the damage you might have had if they didnt catch the bike. Thats what they are there for. I say keep em.

Keep 'em. Mine have the lower corners ground down from leaning further than I really should. Not really noticeable unless you're looking for it. Oh yeah, floorboards are quite a bit thinner on the outside middle. I even scrape riding in town at slow speeds and bike is stock height. I do try to look out for debris, sand loose gravel, etc. but it's fun to lean.

Go with a new stock one, or the Kury moustache one that I showed you at the dealer the other day

If it ain't that bad I'd leave it alone. However you could have it Power Coated black. Cheaper than a new one, if it bothers you.

or check out eBay (watch out for the shipping costs by some people)

Leave them on . You will forget about the scratch in a couple of weeks. Unless its going be a show bike. Enjoy your bike. Thats why they called them Crash Bars in my day. Now HD calles em highway bars.
