+1 on this...both work excellent! If it's just tape residue...take a blow dryer and soften the residue. It should come off with a wet cloth. Polish your shield after that!

thanks...I will definitely try one of those.

I just tried some Pledge ....it did not work.
Actually... it did clean the windshield well but did not remove the tape marks.

Squirt a little lighter fluid on a paper towel and give that a try.

A stock HD shield has a hard coating on it... a small amount of kerosene, lighter fluid , penetrating oil or WD40 on a cloth usually works too, then clean it with soap & water to remove the kerosene / oil residue.

Keep all of the stuff above away from the unprotected cut edge
