I am new to the forum but have had an HD for a while...this time. My question, has anyone put cruise control on a 2005 police bike (FLHPI)? My dealer has looked into it and has presented 3 problems 1) there is no throttle rolloff switch (easy) 2) there is no nub/ball on the carb linkage for the cable (a little harder) and then 3) there is no wiring loom in place to connect to (a bear). What I found is apparently the siren/lights hook up.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. (bilge53@embarqmail.com)
Afraid I can't help you with your install questions. But, my bike came with cruise control and I used it only once. I'm just not comfortable using it on the bike. I suppose it would come in handy if you're texting your buddy or lighting a smoke. :-)

I actually thought when I bought my RKC that the cruise control would go unused. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! I use it all the effing time, it's the greatest, and on my Ultra, I use it even more. Of course, on back roads, it stays off, but as soon as I hit the interstate, it's always on. To each his, or her, own of course, but for me it's AWESOME!!!
$200 for the wiring harness you'll need, plus the HD Cruise Control kit and you will be good to go. Dave is a super nice retired gentlemen and probably knows more about HD cruise control applications than any person alive.
