Well I will have owned the ultra for 3 weeks this Saturday. Decided to wash it this evening...Whew!...Man that was a lot of work. There is a lot more to wash than I am used to. I have a FXSTSSE and it is not too bad of a job to wash it. This ultra takes a lot longer. At least my lady friend did come out and help me. I told her she was one of the reasons I bought it in the first place. She always wants to ride and all I have on the other scoot is a solo seat. So I figure if she gets to ride she should help wash and clean.

Thats why I hate the rain, its not the riding in it its the cleaning. I even put a Grizzly air filter system in my garage and it almost completly eliminated the dust, well worth the 200.00. When I do have to wash, I lightly powerwash, then I use the MR Clean spot free gadget, then I air dry with my leaf blower its a 150mph blower. Then I use that glass cleaner from Wal Mart that comes in an aerosal can and looks like its from the 50s That suff is cheap and works great on everything, chrome paint and dries streak free.
Well since we have a cleaning topic I could use some help. I have a vivid black bike that I can't keep clean. I wash and wax it about once a week maybe more if I went out a few times. I get lots off water spots and I notice fine scratches in the clear coat all the time. Do I need to put even more wax on the bike or maybe I'm using the wrong brand of cleaning products. I have the Harley sun wash and S1000 wax and some S1000 detail spray. Just not sure what I'm doing wrong maybe I should have got another red bike like I had in 03. Sorry guys about all these stupid questions I feel like such an ***.
I do use the leaf blower, that helps a lot. I also use glass cleaner on the chrome stuff. I found that removing the saddlebags helps get to the rear wheel and other tight areas. I will try the products you guys mentioned. Thanks for thr input...
The other thing that helps a lot is I put mine on the jack when it's time for my baby's bath. Gets it level and at a much better height to wash and dry it. It sure has reduced the time it takes to clean mine up.
