so i traded my '02 rg in on a new one. i'm gonna start with basically a stage 1, prol a pc with dyno time. i really like the look of a black exhaust and am thinking of v&h dresser duals and monster ovals. i don't wanna be too loud so that's why i like the mo's. i have read a fair bit on true duals not doing well at lower rpms but most of the info is for earlier 96" motors.
is there anyadvantage to replacing the stock headers and getting rid of the cats with a true dual set up? if the stock headers and mo's with a better intake and some efi tunning will give me better bottom end then i'll prol just go with the mo slip-ons and have to live with chrome....
loved my '02 but 50,000 + miles on a built motor and possibly the last chance to get a new rg made me switch. plus the abs and 180 rear tire were too hard to resist. it's too slow and quiet but i'm workin on that
A canadian guy in another thread said his 09 was HDI and didnt have a cat, so I dont know about your bike. I always thought all bikes with 5HD VIN had a cat.
