Just an update a late one actually after replacing dam near everything (wiring harness,Drag specialties extension for the twist grip grips induc module) Well guess what it still does it (throws the codes and goes into limp mode)
All this modern crap is fine as long as it works. Then when you have a problem, those that are supposed to know about these systems don't.
And therein lies the problem. The manufacturer does all the changes and refining but they don't ask the technicians in the field for any input on the subject. The dealer simply received the new product and the customer expects all the mechanics to be instant experts. If you think it's frustrating from the consumers point of view, you should try getting and eye/ear full from the service departments point of view!!
I've never worked at a bike shop but I've worked at auto dealers when the manufacturer came out with a brand new model or a total redesign of an older name plate and it's very much a learning curve to come up to speed on the nuances of the new vehicle or the changes in the old. True me, it's a total PITA trying to diagnose a problem in a system you've never seen before, especially when you've got an irate customer screaming in your ear over it. Not saying that's the case here but I'm sure you get my point.
TBW works as long as the cumputer is ok...how many time has has your desk top or lap top crashed. There should be some kind of back up.... Every time some one starts talking about TBW, My mind goes back a few years to when that Airbus airliner flew down the runway on landing and flew right into a forest..Boom The pilot was fighting the stick (computer controled) all the way till it hit the ground. TWB ....No thanks
The airbus crash you describe was solely pilot error. My friend flies the 319, 320 & 340 and told me how it happened. So it wasn't the fault of the FBW.
Now the New system with Harely is supposed to have a built in 'redundancy'
I look forward to seeing the outcome of the lawsuit filed by a woman over the issue with the death of her husband and the TBW.
This why I bought an 07 I guess I'm old school. I had problems with my 2006 Hummer H3 like the Toyota where the throttle would creep up now and then. Went through all the dealer BS on the problem and it was always there till I traded it in. I bet if you took a poll you would find that the majority have had very little problems with the new Harley throttle.

Maybe it's the sert the tune Any ideas
WOW......10 months later, new wiring and same thing? I think I would try and find an Indy familiar with the HD ECM and electronics. Doesn't sound like dealer is in play anymore.
