A buddy of mine has a 2007 Dyna SE. He constantly gets about 50 MPG with this bike. I have a 2008 Street Glide and average around 40 mpg. Anyone else get close to the 50 MPG mark?
Bone stock, 1-up and brand new (riding conservatively during break-in), I got 48 mpg on my first few tanks. Once I broke 'er in and did the stage 1, my mileage dropped to 40-42 max. I do tend to go for 6th at the earliest flat stretch of road.
Never on a bagger unless you're riding in high altitudes
Or, you have invented an anti-gravity device that reduces the weight of the motorcycle and rider to less than fifty pounds and you ride downhill with a 60 MPH tailwind. Then ...... maybe just maybe, 50 with a bagger. Mine is very consistent, 36-40, depending on how I ride it.

Yes. After a good dyno tune and some tweaking on the MAP by Doc in Fla. I can sometimes get 48 mpg on my 07 Night Train if I stay on the back roads doing under 65.
I knew that I would get the nay sayers responses. However, I witnessed it many times while riding with him. All that ride with him were always in dismay. We all filled up together then during the trip filled up again. IF we got 4 gallons of gas he was getting three. Plus at one time or another we all checked his math and how he was calculating his mileage and he in fact was consistently getting 50 or close to it. He has a Dyna SE not a bagger.
BTW..we are at sea level and his results were not highway miles on a trip.
Depends. I'm sittin' here lookin' at two receipts from my last trip. 'Bout 08:30 in Socorro, NM. I've got a receipt for 49.723 mpg. Around 4 hr. later I've got one for 58.502 mpg. 'Course there was some 9200+ ft. altitudes between the two.............. Down here in the swamps I get around 40 mpg.
