Well I think my battery is on it's last gasps. The battery tender stays red consistently. I can't really complain too much; I got over 4 years out of the stock battery!
That said, I'd like some recommendations on good batteries and best prices that people have found. Obviously I don't see much wrong with the stock/OEM battery, given how long mine lasted! I've heard that the Odyssey batteries last forever, but require some modification (terminals need to be reversed, and some adjustments to make it fit on the bike properly).
I'd go with either the 66010-97C for $129.95 retail or you can get direct from Deka the same battery that they make for HD which is the ETX30L for about $99.00 They are just in a different case and say Deka, but they are the exact battery as the 66010-97C. Just google "Deka ETX30L" and you will find several places like ams, etc. that you can get the identical battery for alot less.
ditto for DEKA. better pricing than HD and is same battery.
++1 on DEKA batteries. I've been running one for years in my diesel tractor, operates in a tough environment. Tractor is stored in the freezing cold, used to plow snow in the winter and grounds maintenance during the rest of the year. Never on a charger and always starts the diesel tractor regardless of weather conditions. The OE battery lasted less than two years.
Deprix is just an online retailer selling a rebranded (Interstate/Cycletron) which you do not want. I made the mistake of trying to save some scratch by buying the Interstate which failed after two months. Then went through the headache of trying to get my money back instead of one year exchange. I was successful and then went to the stealer to get OEM. Living and learning the hard way.
