Default 1 more dealer service post

My 06 sg was last in for service at one of the local hd dealers in sept of 08 just before the warranty ran out - i had issues when picking up the bike with wiring hanging out of the side cover & being told that the horn was ok even though it didn't work & being billed for keys that were "in the bag" but were not - but warranty was over so now i do the work myself with pleasure!
So i was doing some work this weekend & when i remove the seat i discover a 7/16 - 3/8 offset box wrench laying across my battery - nice wrench a present no doubt from the last ahole who was responsible for all the above - i am just lucky that it didn't make contact and short out my electric system - and that's all i got to say about that! - i feel better now

When i get my SG back from the dealer i always look at what they took apart to see if all the parts are tight. I had some loose bolts last time. Needless to say i was not a happy camper.

Took mine to the local H-D stealer for regular maintenance. On the way home the clutch was slipping. Adjusted the clutch at home and noticed a derby cover leak (no new gasket). Later found the front plug was finger-tight, tire pressure at 25psi, they used regular oil (not synthetic - runny) and and no air in my shocks. What the H-ll? It's like I pissed off the mechanic or something (never met him). I no do it all. That was not the first time with the dealer but it is the last.

I bought a manual and do as much work as I can, it's not that hard.Anything that I don't know I ask around and find out how.You can also get good info on this board.

Congrats on the new wrench!!!!!!!!! Changing oils and such is pretty easy job if you have the manual... even torque specs... do need the correct tools though... Good reason to expand the tool selection in my opinion...

And wait till the chrome fairy comes again!!!!!!
