Default Twist Grip Sensor

I have just installed the WO513's on my 2008 RK and am about add on Cruise Control and extend the wiring so that I can internally wire the switch housing wires.

Accordingly, I am hoping someone can help in answering this question.

If I recall correctly, Dawg had noted that PN 32310-08 is for Internally Wired and PN 32305-08 is OE, Externally Wired.

The question is what is the difference between the two being that both are "internally wired." Meaning that the TGS is located within the bars and the wiring of the OE TGS comes out through the center hole at the bottom anyway.

Is it mandatory to get the TGS for Internally Wired (PN 32310-08) if I want to wire both the switch housing wires along with the TGS internally.

I hope that I have made my question clear!

Thanks in advance for your help in sorting this out

The difference between the two is the OE has the little green clip and the 32310-08 does not, thereby allowing more room for internal wiring. Having said that, if you use larger diameter bars (1 1/4"), or bars without the dimple which depletes internal room, you should be fine for using the OE sensor. Our shop has done Wild Ones on a Road King and did not use the 32310-08 as the OE fit fine.

Can't help you with which twist grip sensor to use, but I can tell you that the Wild1's 513's are an awesome handlebar! I just installed them on my 09 RKC, and I couldn't be happier. I've gone through several handlebars on the bike, including stock, Heritage Style, and RK High. The 513's are by far the best... As far as the twist grip sensor, I had the green connector eliminated and extended the wires by soldering and shrink-wrapping. Worked like a charm, and didn't have to pay HD for yet another part.

Would love to do the same, but when I went to check the connection due to codes the GREEN plug fell apart and now I have no idea where the 6 wires go to. Does any of you all know... In the service manual it is plug 224A &b but of course they do not show the two sets of Red White and Black to make the connections with the yellow and black sleeves .. That is why I say FUBAR!

Just went through this myself. If your wires are still in the yellow and black sleeves (it's actually shrink tubing, you can heat them after you are done and have more room inside the bars) here's how my wires were located.

Black sleeve

Red - brown
White - blue
Black - black

Yellow sleeve

Red - red
White - purple
Black - gray

I used the new sensor simply to make the job easier and to remove a point of failure. Glad I did, as I had no issue whatsoever running the cables through the bars.
