I've got an 06 Street Glide that I bought brand and have never had a problem with it till recently. Every once in a while the bike will completely shut off while im riding. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks.
Check the main circuit breaker. If faulty, they will get hot and shut the bike down. The circuit breaker cools off in a minute, you're fine...until it happens again.
Had this problem on an '04 Heritage. Was a cheap repair - like $8.00 or something.
i remember reading something about the main circuit breaker being weak during some years and that was a few years back. it was in american iron or american rider. your year may have been one of the years which had the problem with them. just a weak circuit breaker, after replaced with a new one should have no problem. harley isn't in the business of making circuit breakers surely, and they're outsourced for manufacture, most likely.
I had this happen once on my 05 EGS just last fall. I had almost convinced myself that I must have hit the kill switch. Good info to know about the main breaker. I"ll keep an eye on it this summer as things warm up. Thanks!!

when you say main circuit breaker, do you mean the maxi fuse, i believe its a 40 amp fuse?

I had a similar problem. My engine would quit, but the lights and guages worked. It turned out to be a bad kill switch.
