Help with Stereo upgrade
friend of mine 06 streetglide, he wanted to install a alpine amp and 6X9 in the bag, but I didn't know he was still running the stock radio, and told him it was a waste without upgrading the deck, I have a Alpine cda-105, what are you guys using for a faceplate to install the aftermarket stereo's, is there a faceplate already available that can be modify to work? I have done a search on here for any info and none of the hits I got has any info. someone have a link to a install ?

You are going to need a mounting kit, not just a faceplate. Hawg-wired has a very nice kit. I think biketronics has one also, but I haven't used one. Shaun

I would also suggest the hawg wired mount but if you want to make your own just use 1/4 mdf trace the outline of the stock deck faceplate cut it out and than on the inside of that trace the stereo's cage and cut that out .. than wrap with your material choice and the faceplate is good to go. from there just backstrap the back. Very easy to make 30min. max. And inexpensive too I have been building faceplate mounts since 2000 but now with the hawg wired mount I try to sell my customers on that because it is beautiful and fits like a glove 10 min installation serious.
