Default Starter cranking slow

08 ultra with stage one ,rinehart true duels and pcv. when the motor gets warm she cranks slow not every time though. i all ready spoke to jamie because i thought it may be the pcv but he had me disconnect and plug the reg computer back in and had the same problem. this past weekend I went to americade and a freind of mine has an 09 ultra and had the same problem when it was warm, just looking to find out if anyone else has been to the dealer or had this problem, thanks for any and all input

Check your connections at the starter and at the battery, especially all the ground connections.

X2 on checking for a bad ground. More than one clutch cable has been burned up from a loose ground bolt.

Mine will crank slow, if I'd just turned it off, then try to restart again right away. 2nd try however and away it goes. I asked my dealer about it and the reply was that slow turning on a compression stroke while engine warm was normal. Mine is going in for 8000km (5000 mi) service this week so I'll mention it and report what the tech says about it if its pertinent. I'm not too concerned, its done it since new.

Same here, I figured it was just something that happens every now and again. I don't worry about it.

I have 08 Ultra and I figured that there was a bad or loose cable connection also, it's at the dealer cause it's still under warrenty and there is other isues. They say cables are OK there is a noise coming from clutch trans area some say that is linked to same problem.

I have a similar problem on my '05 - I find turning off the running lights helps it re-fire. Battery terminals are tight and clean. Battery is fairly new. Seems that extra spark is required.

My 07 has 38k miles and now is starting to sound like the battery is low...Maybe that is just it???? I need to get the battery off the bike and get it tested...I keep it on a battery tender most of the time but lately it seems to crank a lot slower....

My '05 has never had this problem and it still has the original battery. I use a Battery Tender. As suggested above, make sure the battery cables are clean and secure at both ends.
