Has anyone shaved down their windshield?

i did it a while back, and worked well for me. i used a 4-1/2" grinder and a speed reducer, with a very thin disc, 1/16" thick disc. very low rpm. taped with blue tape a couple of layers just in case. copied the original curve with a template i made for transfer, and after cutting, used a flap wheel sander disc to detail the edge. then a bit of lighter sandpaper to buff the edge down, then happich semichrome to buff the edge to a very clean edge. leave the tape on for all of the steps, or you'll screw up. just ask me how i know this. good luck.

my dad and I did it years ago on an 91 FLT tour glide and it was pretty easy. Just measure and mark twice and cut once. We didn't do the heat thing but from shop class projects that will work and it will smooth it out very easily.
has anyone used window tint on thier windshield. I have been thinking of cutting my tall one down a bit but I like the smoked or tinted look. Any ideas???
