Default Adjusting Autotune

So I've had my PCV / autotune for several weeks and everything is working perfect. So I guess its time to start adjusting it. I have some engine mods coming in the future so I figured I better learn how to make adjustments now before I have to make them down the road. First question: If I change the target AFR's on the chart, and then enable them, does that change the base map? Or does the base map always stay the same and the autotune makes small adjustments in each "box" away from the base Map? #2: Which "boxes" are you adjusting to improve mileage? I tweaked some of the boxes in the 2500 to 3000 rpm range at the 5% to 10% throttle but maybe that Isn't the proper boxes when cruising at 75 to 80 MPH. I only raised them from 13.6 to 13.8 and from 13.8 to 14. Not sure how far to go?

the only way the base map will change is 1. if you manually change it, or if you 2. apply trims that are present in autotune.

as far as the changes you are making, are you just trying to get more fuel economy? is your AFR table made by fuelmoto?

The base map was supplied by fuelmoto, and was a huge improvment over stock. Now I want to accomplish 2 things: 1 learn how to adjust it for future engine changes, and 2, fine tune to get a little better mileage. I'm not really unhappy with the mileage, but some of the guys I ride with get much better than me.

if your afr table is good, all you need to do for future mods is apply the trims the autotune sets. you can lean it out to maybe 14.5 or so in the cruise range, but it will run a little hotter.

If you bought the unit from Fuelmoto it would seem the logical thing to do would be to contact them about adjusting it. Instead of consulting a bunch of yahoos on the internet? And if everything is perfect? Why f(u)ck with it?

Maybe because this "Bunch of Yahoos" in the forum are usually in constant contact with Fuel Moto with our own bikes and dealing with them. And after all...that's what this forum is for...sharing the info we've garnished from experience and from dealing with the respective vendors/sponsors that are associated with the forum here!

Be patient, I'm sure he will contact FM as we all have...and ya never know...Jamie himself will probably find this thread over the next day or two and chime in himself!

So My young "prospect jedi"...have faith and watch majick happen as the people in the know chime in!

Ride Safe, Mike

+1, with AT enabled it will adjust automatically to the AFRs that you have specified after any mods. All you do is accept the trims to adjust the base map The closer you get to stock AFR setting the warmer it will get. CUrrently mine are set to 13.8 but I may change to 14.2 in the cruise range. When I talked to Jamie he said that would maybe translate to 2 more mpg.

This is true, Road Master StreetGlideMedic. Bunch of yahoos is meant in a good way. As I have learned great things here in the galaxy of HDF. A PCV from Fuelmoto is on course to my domicile as I type. And surely I will seek advice from the imformative bunch of yahoos in the galaxy of HDF.
Journey safe.
My the Force be with ya'll.
