King

That is what it looks like. I'll check the valves to rule that out too but my plug was clean with no deposits. Also I will use a bore scope to look the cylinder over. The nut vibrated down an inch or so on the threads.

Been typing all of this on my phone.

Thats not too bad then. 1 new pushrod, 1 cover.

Obviously need to pull the rest of the covers and check the lock nuts.

are you gonna pull the rocker boxes to check the valves? Theres a bit of work there.

There may be a witness mark where the push rod punched at the top, this would be a good indicator as to where it bound and therefore you could be fairly confident that there is nothing else wrong.

That really is good news. I know it seems like an eternity from the time things go south until you get her fixed. And of course I always imagine the worst. Glad to hear it's just the push rod. Good Luck.

Good idea on removing the cover to look it over. Thanks.

Like I said, a broken pushrod will make you think the motor has exploded beyond repair. I've seen this on more than one occassion with adjustables. Good luck and I hope that's all it is!

Thanks again.

Phil, today just sucked. Broke down around noon, paid $127 for a tow, $50 for a hotel in the middle of nowhere, waited over 12 hours for a ride back to Indiana which is another 7 hours away.

Best part is my Dad & I will always remember this day. Could have been much worse.

I'm not so sure you can buy just 1 adjustable pushrod.
I think they only come in sets.
Still, much better than the entire engine.
