Geez Dave, and you put so much work into building that bike. Where you running the sidecar on it when this happened?
I guess I ought to check my push rods too then.

It is human nature to panic and think the worst. The reality is all things mechanical can break down. The very reason why I stopped working on other peoples machines. The blame always falls on the tech. From what I read it just might be a bent pushrod. It is tough when problems plague you on the road.Hang in there!

I would check your roller rockers as well. I had a very similar thing happen to my 117, 5 weeks ago and when we got the bike home, the roller rocker had crapped itself and the pushrod let go. Luckily, the piston only just touched my R&R heads and no damage to them. If your pushrod is in any way damaged on the top, you need to look at the roller rockers. Both of mine had excessive wear.
And i feel your pain, as i'm not rebuilding my motor till this coming weekend.

Well we just arrived in Indiana. Stopped at the Dealership. I went to HS with the owner. They have the parts in stock and will inspect the rocker, do a leakdown test, install new pushrod and check the other three, change my oil all for 2 hr labor and $67 in parts. I was planning to do it myself but couldn't pass the offer up plus I'm dead tired. The bike will be done in a few hours.
