I went to the DynoJet PCV site today and noticed that they have a new firmware file posted. I saw a couple of posts last week from some of you saying there was a new one but this is the first time I have seen it on their website.
Power Commander V Firmware V0.1.2.3 http://www.powercommander.com/powerc...downloads.aspx
Questions: Does anyone know what is in the update? Anyone tried it to fix issues and found that it worked? Any issues using it?
I plan to upgrade my PCV the next time I hook up the laptop but wanted check with you guys first. I like to keep things up to date. Guess I think if they release it there must be a good reason. Thanks

Unless there's a bug that's effecting me, I don't do any updates unless it's required to get support from the mfg. I've spent too many years working in IT and have seen WAY too many problems created by firmware and other updates. Now I'm more of the "if it's not broke don't fix it" mindset.
I asked Jamie at FM about it two weeks ago when v1.2.3 was in beta and he said there wasn't anything major covered, not being more specific that this. I decided not to install it because of the "if it ain't broke" rule, like NitroShark wisely mentioned, not that this principle has deterred me from doing things like this in the past. I fix things that ain't broke all the time. OTOH things like FW, computer BIOS, etc. are another matter and I usually stick to the status quo if all is well and I don't see where upgrading will result in some sort of improvement.
However, last week he did call me and asked that I install it to check for any change in the "delayed-start" issue on an '07, as he didn't have an '07 in his shop to check. Maybe it improves it in newer bikes, but there was no change in mine.
BTW, the delayed-start issue applies only if you wait 'til the check-engine light goes out on the speedometer, on my bike anyway. I always start the bike as soon as the ignition is turned on and it kicks over instantly every time, as there's no reason to wait.

I always start my bike as soon as it is turned on also. Jamie just sent the new file to me along with a tweaked map for my bike. After I install it, I will try the delayed start on my 08 to see if it has any effect. Thanks
