If you got 158 miles out of your last tank and lets say you used 5 gallons then you would have gotten 31.6 MPG....if that ran it dry and you used all 6 gallons then you would have gotten 26.6 but I doubt you rode till she ran out. You might want to check you calculations.

Gas Mileage Calculator
Distance: 52 miles (switch to kilometers)
Gallons of fuel used: 3.9 gallons (US) (switch to liters)

(This is the site I used http://www.milesgallon.com/?miles=52&gallons=3.9&price= )

Your gas mileage is 13.3 miles per US gallon

Your fuel consumption in some other units

17.6 litres / 100km
7.5 gallons (US) per 100 miles
16 miles per imperial gallon (UK/Canada)
1.76 litres per swedish mile (10km)
Driving from New York City to Los Angeles you would have to use about 210 gallons of gas costing you $0

I always fill up on the side stand and fill till the vent is almost under gas. Always to the same level for calculations.
Ditto... Double check your mileage first. There's something grossly wrong with 13 mpg. Let me put it this way - 30 mpg is BAD, so 13 is a disaster!

Were you out of gas? No that doesn't sound right. What I do, I will fill up the gas tank. Write down how many gallons and how many miles is on your bike. Then I will ride my bike untill I need to fill up again. Make sure you write down how many gallon of gas and how many miles you have driven. Then divide the gallons into the mileage.

Ok, lets say you have 500 miles on your bike. You fill up the tank and it holds 5 gallons of gas. Now, you drive until it is empty or untill the light come on. Ok, you notice you have 700 miles on your bike and you put in the tank 5 gallons of gas.

Remember, to subtract 500 from 700, this is where the 200 miles come from..

You divide 5 gallons into 200 miles and you come up with 40. You are getting 40 miles to the gallon.

Hope this make sense!

Its been on E when I fill it. The manual says a light will come on and I will have one gallon of gas left before running out. I have yet to see this light but the bike says its on E and when I look into the tank it seems near empty.

I have never put six gallons of fuel in it. I have always been in the 4-5 gallon range (bike says empty)

actually, looking at your picture, it looks like its just leaking out on your driveway.

I agree w/ everyone else...it HAS to be the calculation, if not there would be other symptoms that could not go un-noticed.

If you continue to ride the bike the light will come on and it will tell you how many miles you can go before you are completely out.

You have to look hard at the gauge. I thought the same at first, but in actuality your gauge is not showing empty.
