Default Decel popping

Can exsessive deceleration popping be covered by my warranty? I have an '08 RK. Had Rush slipons installed the day I bought her. After about 2500 miles, she started with the popping. Not too terrible at first, but now at just shy of 5000 miles it's really bad. I did ask the service guy if the decel popping was bad for my motor & he assured me it wasn't. Thanks for any info.

Have you checked the muffler clamps for leaks? I used copper silicone when I installed my slip-on's and no popping.

ditto on checking for any exhast leaks if all seems ok then I would say you are running lean. I have an 06 Ultra V&H true duals breather upgrade and had the fuelpac. I struggled for 3 years with decel popping. Worked with V&H to no avail. It got worse and worse over time, I eventually tossed the fuel pac & installed the PC3, WOW what a difference, new bike to me. I would recommend the same of the wallet allows. I purchased mine from eastern performance all loaded for my bike and add ons. Fuelmoto does have a better warranty, I went with Eastern as I have had good luck in the past with them, however I didn't do my home work when it came to comparison shopping. Here on the forum it appears they truly favor Fuelmoto for many reasons.

I have no more popping and the torque is unbelievable! For under 300.00 I am amazed at the improvement, enought to put off s 95 upgrade.

Good luck

check all muffler connections and even check at the head where it bolts up there for exhaust leaks....if no leaks..then upgrade to a PC-V from fuel moto.

I would not think a dealer would cover decel popping under warranty. If you don't have any exhaust leaks then it will take a fuel tuner to alter the mixture. Even with the stock pipes, you probably have some decel popping but you just can't hear it as well.

I recommend the PCV and Fuel Moto as well.

You say it was ok for 2500 miles, then started popping, has been getting worse, now at 5000 miles? Let's think it through, it didn't do it, then started, now getting worse. I say you should save your fuel mangement money until you find the exhaust leak, based on your description I would say that is what it is. I had mine do that a while back, no problem, just snugged up the clamps, problem solved. As someone else said, check the head pipes to the engine, also, and if you like use hi-temp copper sealant inside the mufflers. It takes a very small bead to create a seal.

Check the rear cylinder exhaust header for cracks where it splits for the left and right pipes.
