Haven't had any problems except the radio went belly up, they replaced it. Gold Wings are good bikes, just lack the rumble of an engine. Nothing wrong with that, just personal preference.
Troll? Don't know but most guys don't come on here griping about the HD's compared to their GW's. Give 'em the benefit of the doubt. Didn't mean to flame him, just have a giggle er two.
I think you had everyone's attention and sad ear until you mentioned the "G" word.
Got my 08 Ultra and had some throttle issues, cruise control issues, spot light not working. Yeah I kinda freaked out after spending $$$$$$$$
End result, dealer came through, took a couple of tries, replaced throttle FBW unit, wiring problem on the spot, not just a bulb, did something for the cruise.
That said I have been enjoying my bike for the last 14,000 miles of the 15,000 that are on the bike
I also had Goldwings 1500's without any problems, My friends with the 1800's are not as luckly. I now have a 2009 Ultra with no problems so far, sorry to hear about yours. My advise is to get the service, parts and elec manuals and fit it yourself or tell the dealer what wrong and watch him fix it....... Just my 2 cents
What did the stealer say they did? What are the symptoms when it failed?
Your bike probably got assembled at York, PA - with possibly some pissed off assemblers! - Just my opinion. Things like connectors not being pushed together all the way, junk inside your gas tank, etc. Would be a great idea to go through the bike front-to-back and make sure everything looks okay.
Thanks, we are trying to deal with it and I guess that's all we can do. The dealer says it is fixed this time. Maybe this time we can ride more than 200 miles before it breaks down.
I have 5000 miles on mine and it never missed a beat. Had 18,000 on my 07 and never a problem.
Well aside from this crowd giving you a hard time, it sounds like you may have a bad dealer. I bought my bike from a bad dealer and had nothing but trouble. I switched dealers and the bike has been magically trouble free since. Since it is a new bike HOG should have towed the thing. Your HOG membership is free the first year. However that being said the dealer should have picked the bike up. Just curious your dealer wouldn't happen to be Naples HD would it? Man they were beyond awful. Go in for one thing and come out with three broken.
