a lot of us in here are using the elite 3, and i'm so tickled that i no longer have a bike that tracks in rain grooves etc. they claim a large difference in mileage out of them also. handling also seemed to improve. they'll be on as long as i own my streetglide, i'm that much impressed with them. as are many others. dennis kirk cost i think 111 bux with a five dollar added charge for shipping a tire. lots cheaper than the 402 tire you'll get at the harley parts counter. and a whole lot more tire.
O.k. Need to replace the back tire before the weekend. Dealer want $180 for the D402. Says that's all he has. Also says I shouldn't put a different tire on the back....meaning replace the stock D402 with and Elite 3 or otherwise without also replace the front with the same.
Front's still got some good miles on it, and I think the dealer is full of it; just out for the $$$$.
Outside of the above, anyone in or been in the Denver area know of somewhere I can get a good tire and have it stuck on before the weekend?
Thanks!
There's a metric bike shop a block from Rocky Mt that is selling Dunlops real cheap. My buddy just got an E3 this weekend.
Just put a set of E3s on thanks to this forum. Couldn't be happier. Big improvement over the stock 402s. I was starting to get a slow speed wobble in the front that is gone now. I have 19K on the front time with tread left. Changed a little early because of a 5K trip we're leaving on this week.
This topic gets covered here more often than I can change my shirt! Avon Venoms for me. Just got back from a 2,500 mile tour to Slovakia from our home in the UK, through Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic and Poland, on all manner of different road qualities.
I checked the Dunlop Site and been following this post. I need to replace both my Front and Back Tires on my 06 Ultra. I am trying to make sure I order the correct Dunlop Part #'s.
The 402's are Front - MT90B16 and Back - MU85B16.
Can someone tell me which E3's I need to order?

TIA,
I too need to know the correct E3 part numbers.
I've read that some use a larger E3 in the rear, but there is a smaller one that is closer to the 402s.
Could someone post "all" options for E3s that will fit our Ultras. Both the larger and smaller sizes for the Ultras rear....I believe there is only one size for the front?

Thanks,
These are the options for '06-'08 FLH's:
Rear:
MU90B-16: Very close to stock size at .01" taller and .06" wider. Should also fit older bikes.
160-80-16: Apparently fits even though there is very little gap between tire and belt guard, but with stock 3" wheels violates Dunlop's wheel spec of 3.5". I personally wouldn't run these, but those who do think I'm a curmudgeon.
Got alot of miles on the stock Duns - crap,Michelin Comanders --crap,So far like the Metz880,about them in the rain,it was raining so hard the semis were pulling over,I kept on going,no problems, now if I can get the mileage out of them......
I have 12,500 mi on the stock 402s and still 5/32nds tread left. Just got back from the Dragon and Cherocolla? Skyway. Ran over tar snakes, mountains, twists and turns, rain grooves, gravel, and several small animals and have no problems to report. 2 up and heavily loaded. I am carefull to keep the air pressure in the tires as reccommended and run about 28#s pressure in the shocks. For my bike and riding style the 402s seem to work well. I run 70-80 mph on the hiway I may try a set of E3's but am more than pleased with the stock Harley tire so far.
