I have a new 09 Ultra and want to lower the windshield to see over it BUT the wife really appreciates the fact that the original height blocks some wind for her. I checked into the Klock Werks and they only have a 6" one which is half the height of original. Does anybody know if the 6" works well for the passenger? A 9" would be short enough for me to see over, just not so sure.....
I put a 6" on my SG and love it. BUT - i could use an 8" if they made one. It does work buy sending the breeze a bit higher for a 6" but doubt it will do anything for the passenger. If I had to guess, the Klockwerks curve is like adding 2-3" to your shield as far as wind re-direction.

Klock Werks does make a 10.5" in tint and clear. Many passengers with this shield love it because it does block the wind much the same way the stock shield does.
I put a Memphis Shades 9" on my Ultra. I love the 9" as I look over it. There is more air around the head area. (which is nice now that the temp is in the upper 90's here in Southern Illinois. The Memphis Shades is almost 2X the thickness of the HD stock windshield.
Had the same issue, just picked up a Klock Werks new 10.5" windshield, looks great, does what it's supposed to do. I'm 5' 10" tall and I can comfortably look over the shield and the wind doesn't rattle my brain. I live in central WI and love to ride MI, need to wear a helmet there. even with helmet on No Problem with wind. A little over priced, owe well, what new. My local dealer always has some kind of a special going on, I picked mine up with 20% off, didn't sting so bad.
Got to shut up, my wife and I are leaving central WI and riding up to Mackinac Island, MI, great excuse to go for a ride.
I got a 10 inch windshield from Fast Air and it was just to the point where if I was going up hill I was looking through it, but on flat ground it was good, so I ordered a 9 inch. I just got it yesterday so I have not tried it yet, but it should work. I am 5.9 tall so I guess you have to take your hight into consideration. My 06 EGC I had the stock windshield cut to 8.5 and it was a bit too low. Fastair.com tells you how to meassure for the hight you need.
Good quality stuff and not expensive at all. Now I own 2 for the price of a HD one.
Thanks everyone for your replies! Im wondering really how the changes affected your passengers! I have riden looking through and over windshields for years and i prefer to look over but just dont want to sacrifice her comfort! Please let me know how these changes affected your passenger! THANKS!!
My wife just rode with me for the first time after putting on the KW 6 1/2" Flare. She said she noticed a little more wind turbulence, but not bad. The look is killer. Got mine off of a great member here on the Forum. Shop around cause there's no doubt they are $$. Good Luck
