well guess what, if those flecks are in the filter, they are going through the oil pump. even though plastic, they can cause damage and also can plug the piston oil jets. id change them out sooner than later.

man sure hope mine are going to make it at least until this winter was planning on cams since it has already been punched out to 95 before I bought it why they didnt do the cams then ?go figure

HD has come out with a retro kit for the TC88 using the same hydraulic tensioners as in the TC96 motors this retro kit has the higher output oil pump as well. The kit is actually a little cheaper than the same old pad/spring tensioner kit

Smells like you need to go to gear drive to me, no worries after that. I had the same thing happen to my 00 EGC last year, the tentioners still had half life left on them but had small chunks missing on both of them. Went to gear drive and now (knock on wood) will never have to go back in that area. Good luck.

It's an after market nail. The quality is just as good as the HD nail, but it was a whole lot cheaper.

are the replacement pads made out of the same stuff ie; checking again in another 10k, or will they last longer
