Default King Tour Pak/Vented lowers

Bike is ordered(09 Street Glide). Got V&H MO's and Signature Series solo seat in garage waiting for bike. Any reason not to go ahead and order color matched pak and lowers? Wife will definately want a back rest, but I figure why not get the full deal with the tour pak. I really like to looks of them on the SG. I realize it would have been cheaper to get the Ultra, but the lines look so much cleaner on the SG with less chrome. JMHO
I also figured she would be more comfortable with the pak than just the backrest..

Opinions???

I will be removing my vents today for the rest of the summer, want more air flow around the motor.

Congrats !. SG's a great bike even though Ultra's even alot better equipped with all the extras.

If my lady read your quote above. She would have answered, "Ultimately Yes because she liked the backrest's ergonomic wraparound by holding her where she can rest or take a short nap comfortably exactly just like sitting in a Lazy Boy recliner". Used to have a RKC with somewhat flat backrest which wasn't just comfortable as the King TourPak. Also, To carry all the extras in storage which is a big 'Plus' for sure.

What you have planned will be great. I had the king tour pack mounted on my 02 RG with the locking quick detachable kit and a set of lowers. On my RG there was no chrome and I liked the minimal look of chrome.

Tour pack will make it much more comfortable than just a backrest. I also like the clean lines of the SG, but the Ultra is the **** for 2-up on the road.

Order it. You and her will be more comfy...........I'm with you on the Street Glide looks over the Ultra. It's all personal opinion people. We just like the non clutered look with all the Fender and Rail stuff.

I went with the Chopped Pak because my wife won't ride.

Trust me TX FB, your bike inspired me!!!!! I just can't spring for wheels right now. I am thinking that since I will already have spokes, may just go for the spoked 21" up front and leave the rear.

Can i put a 200mm on the stock rim though?

Thanks, I'm likin' how mine is turning out. I need to take some more pictures.
I haven't taken any with the Tour Pak and with the new rims.

"Can i put a 200mm on the stock rim though?"

I don't really know about a 200mm on a stock rim. I don't know the stock rim width.
Our '09 rear stocker is a 180 x 65 on a 16" rim.
I put on a 200 x 55, on a 17" x 6.25" (no modification needed)

If I did it again I might just get a chrome rear rim done or a blank chrome rim.
That would be close enough, basicly all you see is the edge of the rim anyway.

Default Parts list

I have my parts list together. Is there anything I am missing? I thought there was a lock set that you could have keyed like your bike to lock the actual tour pak. Am i wrong?

46063-98 Detachables Lock

52892-98A King Tour-PakŽ Backrest Pad – Smooth

54205-09 4-Point Docking Hardware Kit – For Sissy Bar,
Two-Up Luggage Rack, or Two-Up Tour-PakŽ

53276-09 Detachable Two-Up Tour-PakŽ Rack* – ’09 models

79071-09 CPC King Tour-Pak Luggage Dark Blue Pearl

53302-07 Fitted Tour-PakŽ Liner Kits King Classic Tour-Pak.

58854-08CPC Color-Matched Vented Fairing Lowers Dark Blue Pearl

Getting ready to send this to the dealer to knock it out at one time. Trying to get them to kick me a discount. What should I expect? 10% maybe??

Thanks

I'd agree the TP and lowers are a good thing. The lowers (and fairing wings, taller windshield & fork baffle) really helped me keep the wind off my 6'4 body. I also added a King Tour Pack, which works well - no complaints at all.
