high temp paint before exhaust wrap?

So Ive been reading about this exhaust wrap making the pipe rot issue for a while. Evidently the cloth traps moisture and expedites the deterioration process. I havent seen yet any one mention they high temp paint the pipe before they wrap it. Have any of yall done or heard of this? Do you think it would help? I really like the wrapped looked and I think it will fit well on my RKCustom. I just dont want to have to buy new pipes every so many years. What do yall think?

well it cant hurt but if the stuff retains moisture sooner or later its gonna start rusting. I see a lot of the wrap in use though so why not.. hell its only money

good point, i better start taking better care of that money tree out back. it hasnt been producing like is used too

think about it, if you ride your bike at least a few times a week, the heat from the pipe is going to dry out any water that is in the wrapping. It is only when the bike is going to sit for a long time that any water in the wrap can eat the pipe.
