I have come close a few times. I had a friend that hit one several years ago. It was on a very dark road and he never saw it coming. He wasn't so lucky. He got hurt quite badly, as did his bike. Unfortunately he died from cancer of all things.
200+ were riding from the dealer to washington dc for rolling thunder. Now the middle of the pack at an intersection being controlled by local PD this deer came out of the woods and one rider hit it. He went down, deer died, the rider had a broken ankle, twisted foot and road rash. Now i can see it now the deer standing on the side of the road in the woods thinking "200 motorcycles, now just which one am I going to run out in front of?"
