For the engine failure, with any oil the first thing you do is take an oil sample and send it to an independent lab for analysis. If the oil report comes back within spects. the oil did not cause the problem. Most good engine rebuilders practice this.The next step is to look if the right weight was used for the application and so forth.But also the Amsoil Sever Gear 75W-110 is an excellent choice for the tranny.

I have 24K miles with Amsoil 20w-50 in motor, severe gear 75w-90 in tranny and RevTech primary lube.

*Not sure why anyone would waste money running an expensive synthetic in their primary...

The only reason I can think of is the $10 savings every 5,000 miles was worth less than their time to get a separate fluid for use in the primary.

Any high quality modern oil that we use in these bikes is gonna have detergent in it as part of the additive package. That statement that you should have run detergent thru it first is BS.

I really don't see why going to Amsoil would have made this happen over any other oil.
