Default electrical short

Anybody hear of an electrical short on 2003 dresser. The bike sits for a few days and goes dead. Harley has had the bike 3 times and can not find it. They have replaced battery and ignition switch thinking it might stay on. It does not do it all the time but will go dean in 3 -4 days. Has an amp for stereo and it has power to it when the bike is off. Should it?

I have recently installed a PCV on my '08 RKC. Because the installation is a tight fit I decided to remove the battery so I had room to work, and I'm sure glad I did. The factory had pinched the wires that run in front of the battery box with the bolt that holds the battery box in place. It would have only been a matter of time before I had some serious electrical problems. Because of how the wires are run and the proximity to the mounting bolt it is very likely this is a problem on other bikes as well.

If you have already had the battery replaced I would expect them to notice the pinched wires but it's a simple check if you want to do it yourself.

my amp's wired directly off the battery but has a control/turn on wire going to a switched circuit so you'll read 12v open circuit on the amp until you turn on the ign. then the amps pulling current.

I had a '86 Classic that done that. Never did find the fix! I finally just put a master kill switch on it and killed all power from the battery when I wasn't gonna be riding for a week or so. Not the best fix I will admit, but I had no more DEAD batterys when it was time to ride.
