Poll Broken Frame
Sounds like the QC robot didn't notice that the welding or fitting robot didn't do their job correctly. It's definitely a pain in the rear and not something you feel good about. You're probably not going to get much more from harley, but there are two things I would think about. 1) If there's anything you think you may want like an oil cooler, etc., I'd talk to the dealer and work on a discounted price with free labor while they're working on it. 2) I'd ask to meet the guy that's going to do the work, talk to him for a few minutes like you would a good friend, and give him a gift certificate to a decent restaurant BEFORE HE DOES THE WORK. It's an investment in your future . . . . but that's just me.
this issue on one frame is getting really tired. sure, it's a pain in the *** for you. and yeah, in a perfect world this wouldn't have happened to such a nice guy, but come to grips with reality man. ride it, ride the **** out of it, and enjoy it. get over it. the dealership didn't leave you stranded when you had a trip planned. they did everything they can to solve the issue. i'm almost surprised that someone hasn't asked if you didn't want some cheese with that whine. if you deal with a good harley shop, which you apparently do, then they're plenty capable of swapping a frame. it's not the dealers fault that you had this problem. it's a motor company issue that i really hope this is an isolated incodent. ride the thing like you own it, sell it, park it, trade it off, but this has become such a goddamm tired thread, let it go.
