Cool Air Hawk or Sheep Skin

I need a little help for the old tailbone on long rides and am debating on what I need. I've seen threads on the Airhawk & Alaska Leather Sheep Skin Pads. What's you opinions ??

I have both...I start with the airhawk when i leave because it relieves the pressure and later in the day i put it away and just use the skin...Many opinions but your own but will give you the answer..the sheepskin is good to keep the heat and also a lot of folks use the beads??? never have but they sell a lot of them...Gel pads also sell good..if you are like a lot of folks you will try so much crap until you find the perfect match to your butt....A good seat is part of the key...Do you have a backrest...if your tail bone is what hurts then a foam/gel pad with the coxxyx cut out may be best for you...good luck....

I have a Corbin Classic Solo with drivers backrest and it seems as though just the tail bone area is hurting.

Love the Air hawk. Only problem is it raises you up. T.

I have an AirHawk that has been great on a Kawasaki Vulcan; so I highly recommend that option; but I recently replaced my Vulcan with an '09 Ultra and the Airhawk would raise me too high. There have been rave reviews on other HD forums about Mean City Cycles; they will redo you existing seat to your specs. This is how I am going to go this time around. Give Corbin a call. They should be able to correct that at (maybe) no charge to you. I have the same seat and have no such problem even thought I had the exact problem on a stock FXSTC seat in the past. My Corbin Classic Solo with backrest is very comfortable but I am thinking about getting a sheepskin for these triple digit days. I had a sheepskin in an old corvette and it made the seats feel much cooler.

I did order a sheepskin pad from Alaska Leather so should get it in a couple of days and I'll give it a try. They have a 30 day money back guarantee so if that doesn't help I'll send it back and go another route.

The sheep skin is more for cool in the summer, warm in the winter.Just saying, after I lost weight my seat became a whole lot more comfortable.
