Windshield Screw Question

I stripped the threads on the lower right one in my own fairing. Since the insert itself wasn't gonna budge, I VERY CAREFULLY drilled it out using gradually larger drill bits until the last little bit of it let loose, then I used a new screw-in replacement, just like you would up above.

Thanks again to all that responded. Picked up the insert with a spare and did the swap last nite. Went pretty smooth. I was able to leave the headlamp connected. The trickiest part was getting the rubber weatherstripping tucked in on the bottom of the fairing. And I can see how it would be easy to cross thread the lowest fasteners.
