seen alot of post on here about shorter riders and the 09 st glide. id also like to get a little more stable since im short to. for those who have or using the reach seat how much does it really lower you? also looking at mean city extreme seat mod but cant get a hold of anyone.
I put the reach seat on a 09 RG that I had already put the SG shocks on. It did lower me about an inch and also brought me about an inch closer to the controls. So for me this worked out great. BTW I'm 5'7" with a 30" inseam.
reach seat worked good for me as well. probably brought me down about an inch, but also, it allows you to keep your legs closer to together, which in turn helps you reach the ground. i'm about 5'6". also, helps reach the rear brake lever as well. and brings you closer to the bars so i don't need to change the handle bars for a closer reach. i've got about 4k miles on mine, and it's breaking in nicely. at $299, it's not cheap, but cheaper than a mustang or corbin. i ride on 09 road glide and kept the suspension stock.
I love my reach seat. I have also dropped the rear by 2 inch from bitchenbaggers. Gret fit and it feals great to have both feet on the ground when stopped.
I have one on my '08 FLHT along with the profile front springs and rear shocks. It lowered me almost 2". I'm 5'4" with a 27" inseam and can flatfoot it when I am wearing my riding boots with a 1" heel.
Very comfortable. The longest I've ridden is 200 miles one way and is just fine so far. I have contemplating sending it in to Mean City to have the memory foam mod done this winter.
I bought reac seat for my father's road king and what we've seen is it feels like it moves you forward instead of lower. Ride isn't as comfortable as stock seat. We changed back the seat and now I bought low profile shocks. I can tell you about it later this week. We are 5'6" 30" inseam
I put a Danny Gray Big Seat on my 09 Road Glide and it probably dropped me 2+" from stock RG seat. I was on the ball of my foot (extended) and now I'm flat footed. My wife and I both love this seat. It's breaking in nicely.
I sat on an Ultra with the reach seat but it wasn't my cup of tea, it was okay. I let www.meancithcycles.com lower my seat 2 inches, move me forward 1 1/2inches and cut the sides. I now have over 25,000 miles and several 800 mile days on the seat. I am 5' 7" with a 29 inch inseam, but I have a 07 Ultra
They may be away for a rally. Allen added a van to do rally's with.
