I had one on my '07 Heritage and it was still working fine when I traded the bike.

Still have the one that was on my 07 RKC. Put in on my 09 Ultra and its still working fine. I did take the screws out and rotate it to read in the right direction. The rubber gasket was seated wrong so I fixed that. I do take it out when I wash the bike so maybe it will last longer???????????

If you don't have an oil temperature gauge, I would reccommend keeping it that way.

I had one on my old bike and obsessed about the oil temperature. I was constantly checking it. It was analog and I practically looked at everytime I stopped at a light. And you know what, it was fine every time I looked but yet, I looked all the time. And you know what the best thing you can do when it does get hot.....put it in the wind and go faster.

Not buying one for my new bike was the best thing I did! I am happy and content not knowing what the oil temperature is. I have an oil cooler, run synthetic, high flow air filter, pipes and a good dyno tune. Beyond that, there isn't much you can do to control the temp. You can tell by the feel and the way the bike is acting if it is getting hot. You won't need a guage to know that. The traffic is going to dictate the airflow and there isn't much you can do about that either.

For your own sanity, please don't do it.

Besides, they are pricey! $140. ????

I've seen that it is the single most complained about accessory on this site.

+1 on seeing the complaints. There was a thread around not long ago asking folks about their most worthless purchase. I looked for this the other day and couldn't find it though

Anyway, that LCD temp gauge was a biggie among many.

Yeah I've read nothing but bad reviews about this part. I was thinking about buying one on e-bay a few weeks ago, had even put a bid on one for $19.99, but then started to read a thread about how chitty these were. Thankfully I got out bid while I was at work, and haven't even thought about looking at another one.

Worst accessory that I wasted my $$ on. Broke when it was about 4 months old. Warrenty is only 30 days.
