So, I print out Service Bulletin M-1251 this morning and take a ride up to the dealer and ask service if they can take a look at this and perform this service (seeing that my FLHX is an 09 and was built 10-08, and the bulletin shows it is like a 20 minute +- operation, I'm suspecting that because of it being one of the earlier builds that I have the old version of the software....). He at first is very reluctant to even beleive there is such a Service Bulletin (he has my printed copy of the Bulletin in hand), then plugs in my vin#, and voila........ nothing shows up as outstanding for my bike!!!!!!! Go figure. Then the service guy says that I'd have to pay for this service being performed because HD will not reimburse them for the claim because my vin# does not reflect one of the ones with the old version of software.
So I'm gonna call HD directly on Monday and see whats up with this......it could be possible that HD didn't update their database to reflect this data (?).

That guy is an idiot. The VIN doesn't get punched into h-dnet, the bike gets hooked up to the digital technician and if it shows 32836-09 then they have to reflash it to show 32836-09A. It is also free to the end of the 2year warranty period!!!
Dawg - unreal how these effin dealers work. Guess I will call around to see which dealer can actually perform this before I go there and have to go through this again.
Why don't they just listen to the customer, understand the issue and do it right the first time.....oh I forgot, they just don't give a crap.

Dawg, I took my copy of the SB in today and my dealer also punched in my VIN and said, "nope, no recall"... I said it's not a recall, it's a upgrade to the ABS system on the '09's. They hooked it up and did the reflash, the paper work shows a calibration ID of 40601-08A That's different than the service bulletin # 36836-09A What's up with the numbers, any idea?

I'm not sure about the numbers. The numbers for the 08 reflash would be 31854-08 for the new one from 32836-08 (old one).
I had my '09 FLHX abs re-calibrated to the newer version. The dealer also had to bleed my brakes to verify no air bubbles. I drove over an area where the abs would usually kick on when I lightly hit the rear brake. Same area on road after recalibration worked perfect. My dealer also was unaware of the abs recalibration until I showed them the paper.

I'm hoping they did it correctly... mine is a '09 Ultra, I questioned them about the numbers not matching and was told everything was done properly. I think I'll call HD customer service on Monday and ask about the numbers to make sure. Thanks for posting the SB!!
