Question Why'd they move the 2010 RG Fairing?

It seems they raised the fairing on the new RG .8" and tipped it forward 2 degrees. Any ideas why? Purely a styling change or to clear the new bigger front wheel or what?? Could it be to reduce buffeting? They had to redo the fairing to frame mount and make new lower stays so there must have been a good reason to go to the trouble. Hmmm...

Someone please correct me, but I don't think this is the first time they have done something like this to the Road Glide Fairing. The number one complaint of the RG is the air moving around the rider. In fact its the main reason I didn't get a RG. Not that the Batwing is much better. I believe the Road King windshield has the smoothest most comfortable air on the rider. Changing the angle and moving the fairing up is a very logical step torward reducing the problem. A little windtunnel testing would prove very imformative in doing such changes.

I have a factory style detachable bat wing I use on my RK. Better for the hands when its cold and of course it has tunes. But I have to agree my stock RK windshield is by far smoother and more comfortable on me.

Not really. The frames are the same. I changed the fairing on mine from a SG to a RG. It only takes the RG frame to fairing mount to attach it.
