So I just got off the phone with my dad. He is in Rapid City and Harley got so cheap or is hurting so bad that they didn't even rent the convention center this year. All of the HD displays are in the parking lot next to where the demos normally are. The only thing inside is the HOG stuff.
I can't beleive that if HD was hurting this bad that Rapid City wouldn't allow them to use it considering how much $$$ comes in direclty from HD. Kinda messed up if you ask me.
It'd kind of set a bad precedent with all the other bike mfrs if they did comp 'em, those guys spend a ton of money.too. What would they do the next year if Harley came and asked for the same thing? Probably best off for both parties if they try this for one year and decide who if anyone wants to make a plan for next year. JMHO

So the new 2010's are on display in the parking lot at Rapid City HD?
Why in the he$$ would I want to go to a convention in Colorado anyway?
What???
They are in the parking lot at the convention center in Rapid City. Normally they are inside the convention center. I imagine that Rapid City HD has their normal S&S, Ford etc displays.
I pretty sure they rented all of the convention center. Maybe the bikes look better outside? Maybe they think accessory's is were the money is at this year and want to display more of them inside? Could just be trying something different from a marketing standpoint?

I agree with you that the bikes probably look better outside, however 90+ degree and the SD wind will make it really suck. Plus it is a nice break to walk around inside and take your time really looking things over. Who knows, I just thought it was weird. As far as I know the only thing inside this year is the HOG member stuff.
Yep, they're all out in the parking lot. I was there a whole day having my bike worked on. They've also got about 125 2010's in the fence by the service department. I took some photos of the new SG, Ultra, and others.
