I may be a weeny but that's why I don't scrape my boards (or try not to). A tad to much and trouble.
To me, scraping your boards should be a "warning" not a "goal". But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
YUP prolly caught a board and bye bye..... Only thing would be oil on the road ? Im a PU$$Y I dont even get close to scraping my boards.. Ive crashed good already going in a straight line....

Welcome to the club. Hope your bike is fine and you will be too. That next turn you make on that side will leave you a bit queasy, but power through it.
On that pic that made the poor guy an internet star...why is he coming off the bike? He's still on two wheels!!

If you can find the picture sequence of that shot he was waving to the camera at the Dragon and not paying attention... that's a big no, no. If you ever see a photographer at a corner on the Dragon think to yourself just why would he be taking pictures at that spot then hang on.
You leaned too far over and did more than drag the floor board...You folded the floorboard up as far as it would go and then other metal parts of the bike drug and that took weight off one or both tires. it was a simple loss of traction due to loss of downward force on tires.
The next time you find yourself in a lowside skid and know you can't recover, simply push the end of the bar closest to the ground away from you and the bike will lay down into a full lowside skid...from there kick the bike away from you and attempt not to let your body start to roll n flip-just skid your body flat if possible.
Must be contagious...just laid down my Road King doing the exact same thing. I slid into someones yard. Busted up my knee but I rode it home. Few scratches on the back left of my saddlebag, ruined my left handlebar grip, and tore up my front fender skirt. All is fixed now.
I have been down this rode a 100 times and around that bend in my sleep. Have no idea what happened.
