Highsided to be exact. Its taken me a couple of days to get up the nuts to post that I flipped my bagger, and I'm still not sure how it happened.
Rounding a (sharp) left turn, on a good asphault road, at 25-30 MPH, like I have 1000 times, slowed at entry, took a nice line, scrapped the boards (the King is lowered an inch) and suddenly it was like I was on a sheet of ice, no more turn, just straight off the road. The high side part was because of the ditch and the dirt, when the bike finally bit, it flipped highside, throwing me into a bean field.
Walking back to the asphault, you could see two nice lines scribed as if by a LASER- straight off the road. I have a 600 mile "new"Metzler on the rear with about 600 miles on it and good rubber on the front. My pride is damaged worse than the bike ( I think) and I stil dont know exactaly how it happened. WTF. I need one of these little smileys hitting itself in the head with a club...

I've heard about flipping the bike after scraping the boards, because I do it all the time.
Sorry to hear about your incident and glad your OK.
Maybe we just have to take it a little easier in the curves.
Sounds like you may have leaned it over far enough that it lifted the back tire? Glad you are ok, and don't sweat it, the rest can be fixed, or replaced!
Glad your OK. If the angle is just right, the floorboard can jam and not fold at all. whoosh - your off in the dirt. I try not to do that any more
Eons ago (1982) I dumped my beemer in a corner I take at much higher speeds all the time, but that day I hit a bit of debree - and that was a very bad day.
Of course now I know I am mortal and don't do such wild and crazy things.
I may be a weeny but that's why I don't scrape my boards (or try not to). A tad to much and trouble.
To me, scraping your boards should be a "warning" not a "goal". But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.
The thought of a RK flipping makes me shudder, such fine machines, still the main thing is you walked away and bikes can be fixed. Hope you are back on the road soon.
