Since we're talkin about it . . .
My new Street Glide is a bit too quiet for my taste. My last bike (suzuki volusia) had 3" HK Double D's (very loud - a little too loud).
I'm looking for something in the middle - maybe a little more on the quiet side, but still sounds good.
Any Ideas? Where should I begin?
A new friend has mentioned that he may be selling his Screaming Eagle 2s. Is that a good way to go?
Will I need to do the stage 1 upgrade? Are there any alternatives?
Will any of these mods void the warranty? Wouldn't want to do that.

I'm running V&H true duals and Ovals on my SG and couldn't be happier with looks, sound and performance.
Suggest you search and read threads on PCIII and SERT fuel management modules. You will need one of these or something similar to get full performance from your HD.

Look at the Vance and Hines Big Shot Duals. You can get std. or quiet baffles. Nice looking pipes!

I got a pair of B&E Superflows new off Ebay for $175 + shipping. Slapped them on in 20 minutes and the bike sounds 100% better. I did no remapping yet - but the bike doesn't seem too lean - the plugs look good and no decel popping. It's worth the price if only to get good sound out of your bike for a season or two untill you decide on a full system.

Like BH said, why try anything else if you have already seen what DG HK pipes do for you? Get your self a set of DG Hard Krome 3" T-rex True Duals and a Stage 1 Air Cleaner. I to had a set of 2 - 3/4 Big Straights on a Metric bike last year. No clamps, nice solid construction.
